Mistry's Unethical Mystery

Tata Sons said Mistry’s letter had damaged the group in front of its 6 lakh-plus employees. “It is unforgivable that Mr. Mistry has attempted to besmirch the image of the Group in the eyes of the employees,”

Mistry was replaced because he had lost the confidence of the board. Ratan Tata was brought back as interim chairman. The decision sparked a bitter tussle between Mistry and Tata Sons.

Tata Sons issued a statement expressing "deep regret" that the letter marked confidential to the group's board members was made public in an "unseemly and undignified manner."
